Simsbury 13, Somers 0 – Liz Sankar struck out 9 of the 12 batters she faced and threw a no-hitter in a four inning game, and Amy Neureither went 3-3 with five RBIs to lead Simsbury. Sankar added 3 base hits and drove in three runs. Brooke Nici had a base hit and two RBIs, and Jen Duell doubled and scored three runs
in the win. Leadoff hitter Amanda Drury sparked two Simsbury rallies with base hits, and had two RBIs. Karlie Welsh, Kelli Gustavson and Molly Rathbun each singled and drove in runs for Simsbury. Somers was led by the fine play of Kacey Oswell, Steph Hebert, and Karyn Deptula. Simsbury’s Jen Duell called a great game behind the plate.
Simsbury 13, Somers 0 – Brooke Nici pitched a three-hitter over five innings and registered 12 strikeouts as Simsbury won the second game of the doubleheader at
Westminster School. Molly Rathbun and Liz Sankar each had three base hits and two RBIs for Simsbury, while Amanda Drury and Amy Neureither had two hits and drove in two runs apiece. Brooke Nici, Jen Duell, Liz Piper, and Karlie Welsh also had RBIs in the win. Defensively, Simsbury was led by the strong play of Kelli Gustavson at third base and Molly Rathbun at
first base. Keli Cornell had a base hit and two RBIs for Somers, and Monica Palmer singled and scored a run. Defensively, Somers was led by the fine play of Mindy Oswell at second base and Melissa Vamvilis at third base.

Terryville 2, South Windsor 1 – The game was a real pitcher’s duel. In the top of the first, Jacquie O’Brien stuck out the first 2 batters of the game, but surrendered a single by Brittany Soucy, a triple by Christina Wolf (RBI) & a single by Patty Clark (RBI). This would prove to be all Terryville would need. Brittany Soucy was the winning pitcher and had 9 stikeouts and gave up 6 hits. Jacquie O’Brien had 8 stikeouts for South Windsor and gave up 4 hits.
South Windsor 3, Terryvile 1 – South Windsor posted 2runs in the top of the first, and added an unearned run in the 5th inning, hanging on as Terryville’s attempt to come back in the bottom of the 7th fell short. Jacquie O’Brien pitched again for South Windsor striking out 3 and giving up 3 hits. Kristin Parente & Nicole Marcelynas pitched a nice game for Terryville.

Simsbury 14, West Hartford 0 – Despite technically being a forfeit due to a lack of players for West Hartford, the teams decided to play a five inning contest. Brooke Nici pitched a flawless, no-hit game and seven Simsbury players had multiple hits. Nici, Amanda Drury, Liz Piper, and Amy Neureither had three base hits apiece, with Neureither sparking the offense by driving in three runs with a bases- loaded double in the first inning. Molly Rathbun added two doubles and three RBIs. Kim Winaliski tripled, singled, and had two runs batted in, while Morgan Parsons had a double, single, and drove in a run for Simsbury. West Hartford was led by the fine defensive play of Allison Czapla, Kyle Roncaioli, and Mindi McGlaughlin.
Simsbury 5. West Hartford 0 – In an official game, Molly Rathbun struck out 19 West Hartford batters and allowed just one infield hit to lead Simsbury. Brook Nici had a double, single, and drove in a run for Simsbury, while Jen Duell tripled, singled and had two RBIs. Liz Piper also tripled and later scored. Molly Rathbun, Morgan Parsons, and Kim Winalski had singles and each scored a run. Duell caught another outstanding game for Simsbury. West Hartford’s Jess Savino pitched well, striking out nine batters and scattering eight hits over seven innings. Lauren Martin and Allison Czapla played well defensively for West Hartford.

West Hartford 2, Terryville 1 – West Hartford was led by the 3 hit pitching of Jess Savino. Jess struck out 12 and didn’t walk a batter. West Hartford took a 1 – 0 lead in the bottom of the 3rd on single by Lauren Martin, a fielders choice and a single by Mindi McLaughlin. Terryville knotted it a 1 in the top of the 5th on a triple by Brill S and a single by Patty C. West Hartford answered in the bottom of the 5th on a single by Kyle Roncaioli and a triple by Mindi McLaughlin.
West Hartford 8, Terryville 0 (5 innings)- West Hartford was led by the 1 hit pitching of Beth Taylor. Beth struck out 9 and didn’t walk a batter. West Hartford scored all 8 of its runs in the top of the 1st inning. West Hartford was led offensively by Lauren Martin (2-4), Allison Czapla (2 – 3 plus BB), Jess Savino (2-3), and Beth Taylor (2 – 3).

Jen Duell caught a terrific game and added an RBI single, Amanda Drury singled and later scored, and Molly Rathbun drove in a run in the fourth inning. Liz Sankar, Kelli Gustavson, and Kelly Overbye also delivered base hits for Simsbury. South Windsor was led by the strong pitching of Jacquie O’Brien, who allowed just six Simsbury hits.
Simsbury 21, South Windsor 1 – Molly Rathbun struck out 14 of 16 batters on her way to pitching a one-hitter over five innings. Offensively, Rathbun added a single, two doubles and a triple while driving in 8 runs for Simsbury. Leadoff hitter Amanda Drury sparked big Simsbury innings with three singles and four RBIs, while Liz Piper, Becca Raymond, Kelly Overbye, and Liz Sankar had three base hits apiece. South Windsor’s Amy Hartman broke up a perfect game with a home run in the fifth inning.

Somers 9, South Windsor 5 – Kacey Oswell pitched a complete game striking out 5 South Windsor batters. Kacey also had 2 doubles & 2 singles at the plate. Alicia Lambert, Megan Sylvestre, & Mindy Oswell all had 2 hits each. Monica Palmer caught the complete game and threw out 2 base stealers. For South Windsor, Jackie O’Brien pitched a good game and Colleen & Candice Clark played well.

Simsbury 3, Windsor 2 –
Liz Sankar threw a three-hitter as Simsbury won a fine pitcher’s duel in the opening game. Sankar and Windsor’s Caitlin McGaughey kept the game scoreless until the fifth inning, when Amanda Drury, Brooke Nici, and Jen Duell each had RBI singles. Abbey Williams also contributed a base hit for Simsbury, and Sankar added two singles. Natalie McCollough had the biggest hit of the day for Windsor, driving a double to right field in the sixth inning. Melissa Wilhelm had a single and an RBI for Windsor. Defensively, Simsbury’s Jen Duell and Windsor’s Jackie Mendola each caught an excellent game. Amy Neureither played well at second base for Simsbury, and Amanda Ziaks made a number of fine plays in the outfiield for the Raptors.
Simsbury 5, Windsor 1 – Jen Duell and Morgan Parsons each blasted two-run homers and Brooke Nici allowed just two Windsor base hits to lead Simsbury. Amy Neureither and Kelli Gustavson also contributed to the Simsbury offense with singles. Natalie McCollough pitched a fine game for Windsor, scattering five Simsbury hits over seven innings. Caitlin McGaughey was the defensive standout for the Raptors, recording 10 put-outs at shortstop. Simsbury benefitted from sparkling plays in the field by Kim Winalski, Amy Neureither, and Morgan Parsons. Jen Duell caught a terrific game, while Becca Raymond and Karlie Welsh also played well defensively for Simsbury.

West Hartford was led by the no hit pitching of Jess Savino. Somers 1st batter C Maggio reached on a walk. Jess then retired 12 in a row to end the game.

Liz Sankar pitched a no-hitter and drove in five runs to lead Simsbury over Terryville in game one of a doubleheader played in Bristol. Brooke Nici, Jen Duell, and Morgan Parsons had three hits a piece to pace the offense. Amanda Drury and Amy Neureither each had two base hits to help spark big innings for Simsbury. After a 40 minute rain delay, the game began with consecutive singles by Drury, Nici, and Duell. Sankar then delivered two runs with hit, and Parsons followed with an RBI single. In the second inning, Nici and Duell drove in runs with back to back base hits to give Simsbury a 5-0 advantage. After singles by Parsons and Karlie Welsh to lead off the third inning, Amy Neureither sliced an RBI single to right field. Simsbury kept up the pressure in the fourth inning, as Nici colleceted her third consecutive single, and Duell doubled to left centerfield. Sankar then hit into a fielder’s choice, collecting her fifth RBI of the game. Kim Winalski completed the strong hitting for Simsbury with a run scoring single. Sankar struck out 12 of the 17 batters she faced, and Jen Duell caught a terrific game. For Terryville, Sara Fulton made some fine plays at second base, and Patty Clark was strong behind the plate.

Brooke Nici struck out nine Terryville batters and allowed just three hits, and Amanda Drury went 3-3 at the plate as Simsbury won the second game of the doubleheader. Terryville took the quick lead in the first inning when Hayley Hovhanessian launched a double to leftfield, and Patty Clark sent her home with an RBI single. On the day, Hovhanessian doubled, singled, and scored a run. The game remained a 1-0 contest for the first two innings, due to strong pitching by Terryville’s Courtney Miniter and Simsbury’s Brook Nici. However, Nici and Amanda Drury sparked a big third inning outburst with singles for Simsbury. After Jen Duell drew a walk and Liz Sankar reached base on an error, Morgan Parsons drove in two runs with a base hit, and Becca Raymond delivered an RBI single to propel Simsbury to a five run frame. Kelli Gustavson and Amanda Drury opened the fourth inning with base hits, and Nici promptly doubled to drive in a run. Jen Duell then singled, and Liz Sankar stepped to the plate and delivered two RBIs with a base hit to left field. Defensively, Simsbury was led by the strong play of Morgan Parsons at first base and fine catching by Jen Duell. Britt Soucy played well behind the plate for Terryville, and Sara Fulton had some nice plays at second base.
